Seth JohnsonThe Lake City Police Department (LCPD) will host a free 10-week Citizens Police Academy to give attendees an inside view of operations starting on Aug. 7.
The classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays starting on Aug. 7 at the LCPD training room at 225 NW Main Blvd., Ste. 102.
The academy will cover multiple topics such as traffic enforcement, narcotics enforcement, patrol operations and more. It will also include hands-on activities and demonstrations, such as a K-9 demonstration, ride-alongs, simulated firearms training and a mock crime scene.
