The Community Gun Violence Prevention Alliance (CGVPA) will host a presentation of its new gun violence strategic plan to the community on Monday, Dec. 8.
The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe College Blount Center (530 W. University Ave., Gainesville).
According to an Alachua County press release, consultants from DPI LLC will present the completed plan and community members are invited to attend, ask questions, learn about involvement opportunities and share information within their neighborhoods.
The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom. Click here to watch the presentation on Zoom.
The CGVPA is a partnership between Alachua County, the city of Gainesville, the Children’s Trust of Alachua County and Santa Fe College.
“Preventing gun violence requires every part of our community working together,” said Carl Smart, Alachua County’s executive liaison for public safety and community relations, in the release. “When local governments, schools, families and organizations unite around a shared plan, we strengthen our ability to protect our neighborhoods and support our young people. This collaboration is essential to creating a safer future for everyone in Alachua County.”
