Dance Alive National Ballet (DANB) announced its 57th season with five shows and special events planned for 2023-24.

The returning DANB dancers for the upcoming season include Carla Amancio, Luan Brito, Beatriz Correa, Marilyn Deiorio, Rosemary Deiorio, Nathan Fernandes, Gabriel Lopes, Emilia Leon, Ashley Brooke Lunn, Tenki Nomura, Jullie Pinheiro, Beatriz Pereira Povoas, Jose Ramos, Luana Rayssa, Tales Ribeiro, Rachel Ridley, Alison Tucker, Andre Valladon and Roberto Vega.

Joining DANB this next season will be a dancer from Spain, Paloma Berjano. Perjano will join DANB after five years with the Philadelphia Ballet. Stirling Kolb, who is a former member of the corps de ballet, will be promoted to soloist.

Schedule:

Swan Lake – Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Nutcracker – Dec. 15-16 at 7:30 p.m.

Love In The Swamp – Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Giselle – March 23 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Special Events:

Meet The Dancers

Dining, dancing, live auction and DANB performance. Meet the ‘STARS’ from Gainesville’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and enjoy conversation with our amazing dancers.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 22 at Cade Museum (811 S. Main St.).

Champagne Gala

The Champagne Gala will feature the fantastic Gainesville ‘Dancing With the Stars’ with special guest judges film star Lisa Niemi Swayze, ballroom star Dierdre Radler and DANB resident choreographer Judy Skinner. Live and silent auction.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m., March 30 at Legacy Park (15400 Peggy Road, Alachua).

The Magic of Nutcracker

An opportunity for persons with special needs to see the final dress rehearsal of the Gainesville production of the Nutcracker up close and personal.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 13 at The Phillips Center (3201 Hull Road).

Class With Clara

Join the charming ‘Clara’, heroine of the Nutcracker Ballet for a princess style ballet class onstage in the Kingdom of the Sweets. Training is not required. Street shoes are acceptable, but you can dance in your socks or ballet shoes. Company dancers will be available to help your children as well, so they will have the most possible attention given.

The event will be held at 4 p.m., Dec. 16-17 at the Phillips Center (3201 Hull Road).
