Attendees can meet Jerry DeCarie, a Marvel Comics illustrator, and learn to draw their own comic superheroes. The workshop is open to all ages.

Other guests at the event include visual culture scholar, Dr. Margaret Galvan, an assistant professor in the UF English Department, who will have a presentation on contemporary visual cultures in how images are used for purposes of social justice. Galvan’s presentation is geared toward adults.

Local comic artist Emmanuel Payne will also be on hand, showcasing his personal touch in digital art by drawing each piece freehand. Payne’s workshop is geared toward children ages 6-11.

The public is invited to attend dressed as their favorite character and enter the Cosplay Contest. There will be four categories for the contest: kids, teens, adults and masterclass. Masterclass entrants need to have personally created 50% of their costumes.
