
A book launch party is slated for award-winning author Mallory M. O’Connor’s “Firehouse” at the Theater of Memory on Sunday, May 4.

“Firehouse,” book four of the Epiphany Mayall Psychic Detective series, features a psychic and special agent who team up to solve an art theft mystery in a thriller with dark supernatural overtones with the story set in Marion County, Florida.
O’Connor, a professor emerita of art history from Santa Fe College, taught art history at UF and Santa Fe College for 20 years. Now retired, she resides with her husband, John, in Gainesville. She is the author of two books on Florida art and culture, “Lost Cities of Ancient Southeast” and “Florida’s American Heritage River,” both published by the University Press of Florida.
Since retiring from SF, O’Connor has written seven novels and recently won first prize in the fiction category from Northern California Publishers and Authors for her 2017 book, “American River: Tributaries.” She started work on her new series of “occult thrillers” in 2019 with “Epiphany’s Gift.” In 2020, she wrote “Key to Eternity,” and in 2021, she published “Xanadu’s Cavern.”
