Florida Legends will host a one-day fan experience and evening gala on Aug. 23, bringing together all three University of Florida Heisman Trophy winners — Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow — in the first public appearance featuring all three winners and their Heisman Trophies together outside the annual Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.
The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center (4870 Celebration Pointe Ave.) and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille (4860 Steve Spurrier Way) at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville. A VIP photo opp will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Visors Rooftop at Spurrier’s.
Fans will have the opportunity to participate in interactive experiences with the former Gators stars. Experience packages include the chance to catch a touchdown pass from Tebow or Wuerffel or take a handoff from Spurrier. Each package also includes an autographed football, a personal photograph and a professionally produced video keepsake.
The evening gala at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille will feature dinner experiences with one of the three Heisman winners, allowing attendees to dine with the Florida legend of their choice.
Organizers will also offer a VIP photo opportunity at Visors Rooftop, where fans can receive a professional photograph with Spurrier, Wuerffel and Tebow alongside all three Heisman Trophies.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Isaiah 117 House, a nonprofit organization that provides safe, welcoming homes for children awaiting foster care placement. The organization currently operates 66 homes across the Southeast and is working to establish a location in Alachua County.
Isaiah 117 House offers temporary care for children removed from their homes by providing clean clothing, toys, food and other necessities in a comforting environment while child welfare professionals complete placement arrangements.
Organizers said the event offers Gator fans a unique opportunity to celebrate University of Florida football history while supporting children entering the foster care system.
