Parrotheads, Fruitcakes and fans of good music and good vibes will gather at Heartwood Soundstage for Gainesville’s second annual “Jimmy Buffett Fest: The Labor Day Weekend Show,” a tribute concert celebrating the life, music and legacy of the legendary singer-songwriter.
The concert will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, at Heartwood Soundstage (619 S. Main St., Gainesville).
The Labor Day weekend event will feature an eclectic lineup of local artists performing Buffett’s beloved tropical-inspired hits and deep cuts, capturing the easygoing, beachside spirit that defined his music and connected generations of fans.

In addition to live music, the event will feature food trucks and beverages, providing attendees with an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon and evening of music, community and the tropical spirit associated with Buffett.
The festival also will raise funds for Save the Manatee Club, the nonprofit organization Buffett co-founded with former Florida Gov. Bob Graham to help protect Florida’s manatees and their habitats.
Organizers say the event is an opportunity for the Gainesville community to come together to celebrate Buffett’s enduring musical legacy while supporting a cause that was close to his heart.
