City of Gainesville to host event celebrating Rosa Parks’ legacy

The city of Gainesville’s local leaders and Rosa Parks Quiet Courage Committee members are gathering to honor Rosa Parks’ legacy at a ceremony on Friday.

The ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rosa Parks Transfer Station (700 SE 3rd St.).  

Scheduled to speak at the event are Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward, Gainesville City Commissioners Cynthia Chestnut and Desmon Duncan-Walker, Rev. Milford Griner, Evelyn Foxx and Rodney Long.
