The annual Gatorhead Regatta will return to Newnans Lake on Saturday, Oct. 25.
This event, hosted by Gainesville Area Rowing (GAR), will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Middle school, high school, collegiate and masters crews will be participating and registration is available by clicking here. Parking is $10 cash, which goes to fund the GAR program.
This head-style race draws crews from across the Southeast to compete along the lake’s scenic 5K course under ideal fall conditions. Many teams are competing, including Gainesville Area Rowing, which competed in the US Rowing Nationals this past June.
Also at the event will be a food truck by Bagel Bakery and a swag tent.
