The Hippodrome Cinema recently announced its October 2026 lineup, featuring new arthouse and documentary releases, repertory screenings and a month-long run of horror classics leading into Halloween.
HippCinema’s October calendar pairs three new theatrical releases — “Late Fame,” starring Willem Dafoe; “The Work in Progress,” a documentary centered on economist Robert Reich; and “It Ends,” a horror-comedy — with a slate of repertory and genre programming running through Halloween weekend. The month also features an 85th-anniversary Cocktails & Classics screening of “Citizen Kane” and a John Carpenter double feature of “The Thing” and “Halloween.”
“This October, we wanted a lineup that has something for every kind of moviegoer — from Willem Dafoe’s natural performance in ‘Late Fame’ to a full month of horror classics leading into Halloween,” said Naheed Mojadidi, cinema director at the Hippodrome, in a press release. “We’re especially excited for our John Carpenter double feature and our Cocktails & Classics screening of ‘Citizen Kane.
The Hippodrome is located at 25 SE 2nd Place in Gainesville.
