The Hippodrome will be opening a new show called “Next to Normal” on Friday.
The show will have previews that run at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Opening night is at 8 p.m. on Friday.
Shows will run 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 8 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday until Feb. 25.
The musical explores the highs and lows of a modern-day family struggling with mental illness. It follows the Goodman family as they navigate the complexities of love, loss and mental health.
The play is intended for ages 16 and older. Content includes difficult themes such as mental illness, grief and self-destructive behavior. Potential triggers include drug use, self-harm, blood and suicidal thoughts/actions. Other mature content includes some strong language and sexual references.
