The Hippodrome Theatre Art Gallery unveiled a new gallery exhibit that featured the work of Panhandle Slim.
The Hippodrome (25 SE 2nd Place) will be hosting a pop-up art sale featuring Panhandle Slim’s artwork from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24. The following day’s Gainesville Artwalk is from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25.
Panhandle Slim’s work showcases his journey from a professional skateboarder to the now musician and artist.
His artwork features several pop culture icons in a witty way. He works predominantly on found objects such as boards, signs and thrifted paintings.
State subsidized venues should NOT host contemporary politically charged exhibits or plays. Who’s in charge of Hipp art shows?
