The Historic Thomas Center will host its Holiday Lights Celebration on Saturday.  

The free event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE 6th Ave) in Gainesville.  

Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward will welcome residents and officially light the gardens at 6 p.m. There will be holiday treats available for sale, a Santa Claus meet-and-greet, a giant tree adorned with decorations, holiday light shows and crafts for the kids.

Live entertainment will be provided by local musicians.  

Residents can ride in horse-drawn carriages in the surrounding neighborhoods for a $5 donation per person.
