HUB International and Westfield have donated $7,500 to Peaceful Paths through Westfield’s Legacy of Caring program, providing support for survivors of domestic violence in North Central Florida.
According to a press release, the donation was made after HUB International nominated Peaceful Paths for the annual Legacy of Caring program, which invites Westfield’s top independent insurance agents to select nonprofit organizations in their communities for grant funding. The Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation endowed by Westfield, awards the grants to nonprofits across the company’s national footprint.
Since 2015, the Legacy of Caring program has supported organizations that help families and businesses stabilize and recover from disasters, reflecting the insurance industry’s commitment to helping people rebuild after difficult circumstances.
“As Westfield enters our 178th year, we achieved this longevity by generations of employees and agents working together, committed to preserving and propelling our communities forward,” said Ed Largent, president, chief executive officer and board chair of Westfield, as well as chairman of the Westfield Insurance Foundation, in the press release. “Westfield continues to build on the strong commitment of caring that the founders of our company imagined. It’s a great feeling to link arms with our agents and make an impact.”
Brian Scarborough, regional sales officer for HUB International, said the company was proud to nominate Peaceful Paths for the award.
“Westfield is a great insurance carrier partner of ours, and I’ve been a supporter of the Peaceful Paths mission and a huge fan of their dedicated team for many years,” Scarborough said in the press release. “We are exceptionally grateful to Westfield for accepting our nomination of Peaceful Paths to receive this award.”
Crystal Sorrow, chief executive officer of Peaceful Paths, said the funding will directly benefit individuals seeking safety and support.
“We are so grateful for the generous support to Peaceful Paths,” Sorrow said in the press release. “The Legacy of Caring grant will directly impact survivors, offering support for short-term goals that lead to long-term results.”
Westfield said the Legacy of Caring program reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities it serves by partnering with independent insurance agencies to support local nonprofit organizations.
