The Humane Society of North Central Florida has been selected as the benefiting charity of the 2026 University of Florida Homecoming and Gator Growl, bringing together Gator pride and support for local animals.

The partnership will unite the student-led UF Homecoming and Gator Growl committee with HSNCF throughout the Homecoming season for spirit nights, fundraising activities, community outreach and signature events, according to an HSNCF release.

HSNCF is a local no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the needless euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets throughout North Central Florida. Through pet adoption, foster care, affordable veterinary services, humane education and community outreach, the organization works to improve the lives of animals and the people who care for them.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with the UF Homecoming and Gator Growl team,” said Jordyn Chiodo, HSNCF social media manager and development coordinator, in the release. “As a proud Gator alumna, this partnership is especially close to my heart. I cannot wait to be part of the Homecoming Parade and help introduce an even broader audience to the lifesaving work we do for dogs and cats and to the many ways we support pets and families throughout our community.”

The partnership will offer students, alumni and community members opportunities to celebrate Gator spirit while supporting local pets. Scheduled activities include:

  • Restaurant spirit nights.
  • The Chomp for Charity 5K.
  • The Homecoming Festival.
  • The UF Homecoming Parade, where HSNCF plans to walk alongside adoptable dogs.
