UF Homecoming week wraps up its festivities this weekend.
The tradition of Homecoming and Gator Growl — which is over 90 years old —celebrates past, present and future and students, alumni and the Gainesville community coming together for Gator Nation.
The 99th annual UF Homecoming Parade marched through downtown Gainesville on Friday at noon. The route included 13th Street, University Avenue and ended on Main Street.
On Friday night, UF will host the annual Gator Growl concert at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center at 6 p.m. The Gator Growl claims to be the largest student-run pep rally in the nation and gives students a chance to show their spirit before the homecoming football game tomorrow. The concert will be hosted by UF Heisman winner, Danny Wuerffel, and include musical talent from Fletcher and Flo Rida. Tickets are still on sale.
The UF homecoming football game will kick off at noon on Saturday with the Gators taking on Missouri at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
On Monday, Soulfest will be taking place at the Reitz Grand Ballroom at 7:15 p.m. Soulfest is a multicultural talent show featuring UF’s dancers, singers and campus organizations with an emphasis on our school’s diverse cultures. Soulfest is free to attend for all students. Click here to RVSP.
