The City of Alachua and Vipper Events have announced a pandemic-era version of the March, April and May (M.A.M.) Festival and Concert Series at Legacy Park.
The series will begin Friday, March 19, and continue through May at the park, located at 15400 Peggy Road. The amphitheater, which was completed in 2017, sits on 105 acres adjacent to the Hal Brady Sports Complex.
This free “Celebration of Life and Music” will be a mask-on, socially distanced outdoor festival experience focused on community health and wellness, music, arts and culture. The weekend-long festival series will bring an array of the local and regional music scene’s brightest stars in various genres:
March 19 – 21: Jazz/ Acoustic Soul/ Latin
April 23 – 25: Southern Rock/ Country
May 21 – 23: Southern Blues/ Funk
In addition to the concert series, festival activities include: Sienna Café beer garden, Friday Movie Nights, Kids’ Zone by Optimist Club, health and fitness activities, and a creative brand-pitch opportunity. The events will be streaming live and feature an on-site digital landscape treasure hunt.
Also, the MAMVille Market will be part vendor fair, part farmers market, and part trade show.
“There will be something for family members of all ages,” said Jonathan Banks, head of Vipper Events. “In a time of uncertainty and isolation, MAM Concert Series is all about celebrating life through music and culture.”
Parking is available at the Legacy Field located behind the Legacy Center, where attendants will guide attendees. Festival goers are encouraged to register online.
Concert goer space is first come, first serve. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but not pets.
Vendors will accept only wireless touch and chip cards for payment, not cash.
