Mayor to declare “Multicultural Day” at downtown Gainesville festival

Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward will officially proclaim Feb. 24 as the city’s inaugural “Multicultural Day” at the Culturs Festival.  

Culturs Festival will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at How Bazar (60 SW 2nd St.).  

The proclamation at 7 p.m. recognizes the importance of designating a day to celebrate the unique customs, languages and traditions of the city’s vibrant multicultural community.

The event will feature performances by a diverse range of dancers, poets, singers, musicians and comedians, local artists and international cuisines from popular food vendors.
