Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward will officially proclaim Feb. 24 as the city’s inaugural “Multicultural Day” at the Culturs Festival.
Culturs Festival will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at How Bazar (60 SW 2nd St.).
The proclamation at 7 p.m. recognizes the importance of designating a day to celebrate the unique customs, languages and traditions of the city’s vibrant multicultural community.
The event will feature performances by a diverse range of dancers, poets, singers, musicians and comedians, local artists and international cuisines from popular food vendors.
The festival will also host Radiant Hands, a local charity aiding in the resettlement of refugees. For the list of participants, click here.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
