Newberry to hold annual Christmas tree lighting

Newberry will host its fourth annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the Gingerbread Village on Saturday.

The free event is scheduled to run from 6-8 p.m. at the Newberry City Hall (25440 W. Newberry Rd) kick off the city’s December holiday schedule.

Festivities will include complimentary holiday cookies, hot cocoa, Christmas carolers and photos with Santa. Bring your own camera for your photo with Santa.

The event will also feature a vintage market with holiday gift ideas.

The Newbery Area Chamber’s Movie in the Park will take place at 5 p.m. on Dec. 10.

On Dec. 17, the day will start with Nana’s Gingerbread House decorating contest at 3 p.m. followed by a Christmas parade at 5 p.m. and the Country Way Town Square’s sixth annual Christmas on the Square at 6 p.m.
