The largest Newberry Main Street Fall Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday with more than 160 vendors, live music, food trucks and more.
The festival will be in Newberry’s historic downtown and on both sides of State Road 26, lasting until 4 p.m. The event is free.
Charmagne Manning, executive director for the Newberry Main Street Organization, said the festival will be the largest both in number of vendors and area. The festival will have four vendor areas on both sides of Newberry Road instead of just the north like in the past.
Even with the expansion, Manning said the festival had to turn 60 to 70 vendors away.
“I’m excited to see the entire thing come together,” Manning said. “It’ll be a great day for our community.
She said the city of Alachua Police Explorers will provide crossing guard services at Seaboard Avenue and in front of the Newberry City Hall. Manning said visitors should make sure to visit all four vendor areas.
Camel and pony rides along with live kids shows, a ballon maker, face painter and bouncy houses will be on hand to check out. Manning said the food court will also be packed.
“It’s a great way to really just support shopping local and small businesses because all of these folks are small businesses that come in,” Manning said.
