Operation Catnip of Gainesville will host its first open house on Friday, Oct. 9, celebrating the nonprofit’s new location in downtown Gainesville.
The free event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 912 NE 2nd St. Click here to RSVP.
The open house is an opportunity to welcome and celebrate the organization’s friends, supporters, donors, volunteers and partners, organizers said. It will include a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the clinic, a chance to meet adoptable kittens, local food trucks, and a silent auction with giveaway prizes.
Operation Catnip is a local nonprofit that serves community cats through spay-neuter operations, medical services and vaccinations. Since its founding in 1998, the organization has helped more than 100,000 cats. The open house will give community members a chance to learn about the organization’s impact and how they can support its work.
About Operation Catnip
Since its founding in July 1998, Operation Catnip of Gainesville has sterilized more than 100,000 cats in Alachua County and the surrounding area. By offering surgical and clinical opportunities to qualified veterinary students, the organization has spent more than 20 years helping train the next generation of the country’s veterinarians. Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Julie Levy, Operation Catnip of Gainesville has evolved into a model for trap-neuter-return clinics worldwide.
