Pet lovers can unleash their creativity while supporting a local animal welfare organization during a “Paint Your Pet Portrait” event on Wednesday, July 22, at EarthWise Pet in Jonesville.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at EarthWise Pet, 14029 W. Newberry Rd., Unit 1, in Jonesville, and will benefit the Shakespeare Animal Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency veterinary financial assistance to elderly, disabled and low-income pet owners whose animals are suffering from serious illness or injury.
Participants will create a portrait of their pet with guidance from a professional artist while enjoying wine and light refreshments. Each attendee will receive a canvas that has been prepared in advance using a photo of their pet.
The event is limited to 25 participants and the cost is $50. Tickets are available at by clicking here. After registering, participants will receive instructions for submitting a pet photo prior to the event so the artist can prepare the canvas.
Founded in 2004 in Reno, Nevada, in memory of a beloved cocker spaniel named Shakespeare, the Shakespeare Animal Fund has expanded to serve additional communities while remaining focused on a single mission: helping families afford emergency veterinary care for pets in need.
Proceeds from the event will help the organization continue providing financial assistance to pet owners facing unexpected veterinary emergencies.
