Parents preparing their children for the upcoming school sports season can take advantage of free sports physicals being offered by Palms Medical Group throughout June and July.
The healthcare provider announced that student athletes can receive free sports physicals during regular operating hours at all Palms Medical Group locations across North Florida.
Participating locations include Bell, Branford, Chiefland, Fleming Island, Gainesville, High Springs, Lake City, Live Oak, Starke, Trenton and Williston.
“Our mission, to enhance the health and well-being of our communities, often begins with our youth,” said Anita Rembert, chief executive officer of Palms Medical Group, in a press release. “What a wonderful way to carry out this mission, investing in the future generation of athletes. By offering these physicals at our locations, we are lowering the barrier to entry for them to become the athletes they aspire to be.”
Sports physicals help ensure students are medically cleared to participate in school-sponsored athletic activities and can identify potential health concerns before the season begins.
Palms Medical Group noted that the free sports physicals do not include the new Florida High School Athletic Association EKG requirement for incoming freshmen and new sophomore, junior or senior student-athletes. Families seeking EKG screenings and interpretation services can obtain additional information through https://www.whoweplayfor.org/.
The free physicals will be available throughout June and July 2026 during normal clinic operating hours.
To schedule an appointment, families can call 888-730-2374 or visit the Palms Medical Group website at https://palmsmg.org/.
