Paynes Prairie State Park will be hosting Holiday at the Prairie, which will immerse visitors in fun activities inspired by how those who lived in the mid-1800s celebrated Christmas.
The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park at 100 Savannah Blvd. in Micanopy.
Visitors will be able to explore the Visitor Center and enjoy hot cider, roasted pecans, crafts, storytime, spin the dreidel, and there will be a visit from Saint Nicholas.
Staff and Volunteers will be in period clothing. Visitors can make a corn husk doll, nature-inspired bird feeder, and help with making a quilt.
The event is free with paid park admission.
