PorchFest Gainesville will kick off on Saturday, April 18, in Tioga as a fundraising event for The Independence Project (TIP).
This free event will take place from noon to 4 p.m, at the Town of Tioga Clubhouse (104 SW 131st St., Newberry).
As part of its fundraising efforts, TIP is hosting the inaugural PorchFest, which will feature local musicians playing in neighborhood front lawns and porches to raise money to make its residential community a reality.
PorchFest Gainesville will also feature food and beverage vendors, family activities and community engagement. Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike between porch stages while supporting local businesses and nonprofit initiatives.
TIP is a nonprofit organization working to build a supported residential community in Gainesville for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). TIP is dedicated to empowering those with I/DD to live independently and thrive within their community.
