Santa Fe College will open its theatrical season with two performances of Ted Tally’s historical drama “Terra Nova” at the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall.
The play will start at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 7 and 8, at 3000 NW 83rd St. in Gainesville. Tickets are available at Showpass.
Directed by Santa Fe College Associate Professor of Theatre Russell Schultz, “Terra Nova” brings to life British explorer Robert Falcon Scott’s 1910-12 expedition and his ill-fated race to reach the South Pole.
The play blends historical fact with theatrical imagination as Scott and his men push themselves to the limits of human endurance. The drama explores themes of duty, honor and sacrifice while examining ambition and the cost of glory.
“Terra Nova” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service.
