The Florida Performing Arts is bringing British author C.S. Lewis’ 1942 satiric classic “The Screwtape Letters” on Feb. 19 to the Curtis M. Phillips Center.
The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 3201 Hull Rd. in Gainesville.
The 90-minute stage adaptation of Lewis’ international best-seller follows a series of letters between a senior tempter in Hell named Screwtape and his nephew Wormwood. The two scheme to capture the soul of an unsuspecting human on earth known as “the Patient.”
The fast-paced performance without an intermission reveals spiritual warfare in vivid, humorous and powerful ways.
This production is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older. Children under 4 will not be admitted.
Limited tickets remaining range from $69-$79 and can be purchased online or from the Phillips Center box office.
