The City of Gainesville and Alachua County will honor the anniversary of 9/11 on Sunday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at UF’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Attendees will participate in the annual stair climb and a ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives because of the acts of terror on Sept. 11, 2001.

“This is unique to Gainesville,” said Alachua County Fire Chief Harold Theus in an interview with Larry Wilson, DJ for Gainesville’s Classic Hits 100.9  “It’s something that we’ve done annually,” Harold Theus, Alachua County Fire Chief, said in a radio interview. “The stair climber moment at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is a unique community event commemorating 9/11 in a college football stadium. The stadium lends itself with all those steps to honor the number of stairs that were climbed by all the fighter fighters on that day.”

Don’t let the GNV Socialists on the City Council anywhere near this event honoring Americans who lost their lives on 9/11! They will only defile these honored American victims and their families! Same with the AC BOCC liberals!
