Tight harmonies will be the order of the day on Friday, March 13, as this year’s “Sing Into Spring” concert will feature a collaboration between the Santa Fe Singers and the Barbergators Chorus.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall on the Santa Fe College Northwest Campus (3000 NW 83rd St., E-127) in Gainesville. Tickets may be purchased at the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall box office or online on Showpass.
The Barbergators Chorus is a Gainesville-based group that has been performing since 1973 with the mission to “bring our community together in and with harmony.”
The theme of the event is “Rhythm of Life,” based on a composition of the same name by Cy Coleman (arranged by Richard Barnes). The concert will explore the rhythm of life through the everyday, the emotional, water (essential to life), and home, featuring a variety of styles, with a repertoire including “Java Jive” (Ben Oakland, arr. Russell Robinson), “Cum Sancto Spiritu” (Antonio Lotti), “The Longest Time” (Billy Joel, arr. Tom Gentry), and Tshotsholoza (Jeffery Ames).
The performance is presented by the Santa Fe College Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology Department
