Sister Hazel coming to Newberry this week; adds additional tour dates

Platinum-selling band, Sister Hazel, are excited to announce that three new tour dates have been added to their first ever drive-in series of concerts. Brought to you by Waterloo Sparkling Water, in addition to the socially-distanced shows in October at locations around Florida, fans can catch the band at the Grand River Drive-In Birmingham, AL, Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta, GA, and Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, SC. The band will perform chart-topping fan favorites as well as new music from Elements released earlier this year. Car placement will begin at 6:00pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. With tickets sold per four person vehicle, fans can purchase limited VIP for $169 utilizing the first several rows, $149 for GA, and  $25 for any additional (2 max) per car (up to six people). Birmingham will be a pod show with vehicles parked in a separate lot. Each pod will be individually marked with up to six chairs in a 6X10 foot space. There will be a minimum of 8 feet of social distance space in each direction between pods.To purchase tickets, visit HERE. These innovative outdoor performances will be the last shows of 2020 for the band.

Speaking about the experience, drummer Mark Trojanowski explains, “Beginning in March, we started brainstorming ways to play shows in a way that was safe for the fans, our crew, and the band. We spent hours working through various options and sorting out what was feasible and what wasn’t. While it took us a while to find a solution that worked and provided something people would be excited about, we think it was worth it. We can’t wait for this opportunity to play real, live music for our fans in a safe environment. We hope it will bring some hope and happiness to our fans during this tough time.”

With safety being the top priority, all CDC and local guidelines will be followed. Fans are encouraged to remain in their designated car area. They are also asked to wear a mask and stay six-feet apart from crowd members when they are utilizing restroom or concession areas.  Limited concessions with food and drink will be available on site.

Originating from Gainesville, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called “one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years” by Performing Songwriter Magazine. Song “All for You,” topped the adult alternative charts during the summer of 1997 and the success propelled their album to platinum status.  Since then, the band has become firmly established not only in rock and alternative music, but now in country with four back-to-back Billboard Top Country Albums Chart entries. They have most recently co-produced a cleverly themed EP compilation series entitled “Elements,” that includes a bonus seventh track that continued throughout the series. Living up to their fan-centered reputation, the band was a pioneer in the themed cruise industry by co-founding “The Rock Boat” and annually hosts events like the “Hazelnut Hang,” and “Camp Hazelnut” that focuses on creating unique experiences and interacting with the fans. Sister Hazel has been equally attentive to connecting with their audience through social media having amassed over a million social followers. In addition to the events and touring, the band also gives back with “Lyrics for Life.” Founded by singer Ken Block, the charity unites musicians and celebrities for concerts and auctions to benefit cancer research and patient-care charities.
