Mainstreet does not have a paywall, but pavement-pounding journalism is not free. Join your neighbors who make this vital work possible.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Share how they would like to see the T.B. McPherson Center renovated to support the activities and events they want; and
  • Provide feedback on the outdoor areas and amenities in the complex to help guide future park improvements.

The T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex is a 15-acre community park in southeast Gainesville featuring a recreation center, pool, courts, ball fields, playground, trails, picnic areas, fitness stations and parking.

Although it offers many amenities, the park is one of the city’s least used. To help the park reach its full potential, the city is creating a 10-year vision plan guided by community input. The project focuses on renovating the T.B. McPherson Center while planning future improvements across the entire recreation complex.
