‘Timucua Language and Culture’ presentation slated for Wednesday

Dr. George Broadwell will give a presentation on “Timucua Language and Culture: Understanding Alachua County’s Native Heritage” on Wednesday at the Matheson History Museum.

The free event will take place at 7 p.m. at 513 E University Ave. in Gainesville. Click here for in-person registration.

Broadwell is an Elling Eide Professor of Anthropology at UF and is an expert on Native American languages, with a special focus on Florida and the Southeast. He is the author of a recently published grammar of the Timucua language and of numerous other publications on Native American linguistics.
