Actors will depict, through dress, speech and mannerisms, sharecroppers, travelers and horse traders. Family and neighbors will conduct business and visit the store. The farmhouse front porch was an active place to socialize and hear two men talk about the “bank panic” and other timely events and politics.
In the parents’ room, the young, busy parents talk of family business and their plans, while in the kitchen, while visiting and preparing a meal, women enjoy a lively talk, including how times are changing.
