‘Twilight Walk to the Past’ on tap at Dudley Farm Historic State Park

Dudley Farm Historic State Park will host “Twilight Walk to the Past” on Saturday and Sunday evening as actors depict sharecroppers, travelers and horse traders.  

The times go from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., 7 to 8 p.m., 7:15 to 8:15 p.m., 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

On Sunday, the times go from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., 7 to 8 p.m., 7:15 to 8:15 p.m., 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.

The park is located at 18730 W. Newberry Rd. in Newberry. The cost is $20 per personClick here to register. You must be 14 years or older to register.

The event will continue, rain or shine, with no refunds. There will be seven stops on the walk, each lasting approximately five minutes. Each tour will be around 50 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your tour.

Actors will depict, through dress, speech and mannerisms, sharecroppers, travelers and horse traders. Family and neighbors will conduct business and visit the store. The farmhouse front porch was an active place to socialize and hear two men talk about the “bank panic” and other timely events and politics.

In the parents’ room, the young, busy parents talk of family business and their plans, while in the kitchen, while visiting and preparing a meal, women enjoy a lively talk, including how times are changing.
