UF Persian Music Ensemble to perform “Hear the World” concert

The UF Persian Music Ensemble is performing its “Hear the World” concert on Sunday, Oct. 20.  

The free event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE 6 Ave., Gainesville) and feature music inspired by the dastgah traditions of Iran, North Africa and Central Asia. Click here to RSVP.  

UF Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology Dr. Payam Yousefi will direct the ensemble and perform on various Persian instruments, including the Kamacheh, Tar, Setar, Pipa, piano, voice and percussion.
