Veterans resource fair to be held on Friday

The Veterans Resource Fair and Homeless Veteran Stand Down event is scheduled for Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center.

The event – hosted by the Alachua County Veterans Services in collaboration with other area agencies – will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1028 NE 14th Street in Gainesville.


The fair will provide veterans with housing resources, medical screenings, education, veterans benefits assistance, employment assistance, VA medical enrollment, legal services, clothing resources, food stamp information and applications, social services and more.

“The goal is to bring as many resources and services together in one location for our veterans to access, so they may utilize them or know where to go if they need them,” said Alachua County Veteran Services Director Kim Davis in a press release.
