Motorcyclists, drivers and community supporters are invited to participate in the “Veterans Ride for Rural Hunger Relief” on Saturday, Aug. 29, to raise funds for The Children’s Table and help provide food to families throughout rural North Central Florida.

Hosted by the Veterans Riders and The Children’s Table, the fundraiser begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. at The Children’s Table (680 W. Thrasher Drive, Bronson). Participants will receive a continental breakfast before departing at 10:30 a.m.

The ride will travel through several North Central Florida communities with stops at veterans posts in Fanning Springs, Old Town, Bronson and Inglis before concluding at Scooter Haven, where volunteers will serve dinner.

Registration is $20 per motorcycle rider or vehicle driver and $10 per passenger. Cars and trucks are also welcome to participate. Dinner is included for registered participants and will be available to nonregistered guests for a $5 donation.

All proceeds will benefit The Children’s Table, an independent, community-funded rural food bank celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1996 by Bill and Verna Brown, the organization provides weekly food distributions, emergency food assistance and a mobile food pantry serving families across rural North Central Florida.

At 97 years old, founder Bill “Mr. Bill” Brown remains actively involved with the organization, continuing to welcome families during its weekly food distributions.

Organizers encourage community members who are unable to participate in the ride to support the event by making a donation, contributing a door prize, volunteering or helping spread the word about the fundraiser.
