A Lake City teenager died from a gunshot wound at Cedar Park Apartments Wednesday night.

Lake City police officers responded to the apartments at 9:54 p.m. after a report that a person was shot. Officers located the victim, Devores Minter, 17, of Lake City, lying on the grass with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers started administering life saving measures before Minter was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to the injury, according to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) press release.

A second victim was struck by a bullet fired through an apartment window and was treated and released from a local hospital.

LCPD officers and Florida Department of Law Enforcement evidence technicians secured the crime scene. Investigators have identified a person of interest and continue to investigate further.
