Alachua County Sheriff Chad Scott has been selected to serve as vice chair of the Florida Sheriffs Association’s (FSA) Accreditation Advisory Committee for the 2026-27 term.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) release sent on Friday, the FSA Accreditation Advisory Committee works with FSA accreditation coordinators to provide overall direction for the accreditation program, evaluate and approve operational proposals and assist law enforcement agencies with policy reviews, facility inspections and training required to meet Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation standards.
Committee members do not conduct daily accreditation assessments. Instead, they provide high-level program direction designed to strengthen statewide accountability and promote best practices among law enforcement agencies, according to the release.
Scott and members of the ACSO expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve Florida and help guide the state’s 67 county sheriff’s offices as they work toward accreditation.
