Amazon truck crashes into utility pole

An Amazon truck collided with a utility pole at the intersection of SW Williston Road and US Highway 441 in Gainesville on Wednesday.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 43-year-old Jacksonville man was driving the truck west on SW Williston Road at 4:40 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, he drifted off the northwest side of the road just past US Hwy 441 and struck the pole.

The driver was not injured but was cited for failure to maintain a single lane.

Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) replaced the pole without cutting power to the area.
