Archer man dies in head-on collision

A 48-year-old Archer man died in a head-on collision on US Highway 27 in Newberry on Sunday evening.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Archer man was driving a sedan on US Highway 27 near NW 16th Avenue at 6:50 p.m. when he collided with a 61-year-old Spring Hill man driving a pickup.

The Archer driver, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, died from his injuries. The Spring Hill man sustained minor injuries.
