The meeting will also include an update on the Alachua County Criminal Justice, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Reinvestment Grant Planning Committee.

The Regional Transit System (RTS) presentation will address the transit development plan and revenue sources information, including funding that is part of the FY22 budget development with $77,000 for seniors and youth, in addition to the continuation of regular service at $1,086,501.

The BOCC will also go over the Sports Events Center development agreement, operation and maintenance agreement, and donation of property to Alachua County.

The county’s fiscal portion of the project will be $30.3 million. The Florida Legislature approved and Gov. Ron DeSantis supported a $2.32 million request from the county for the construction of the sports event facility at Celebration Pointe.

The public may attend and comment at this meeting virtually and in-person. For those attending remotely, the commission will take public comment by calling 1-800-876-7516 or via email (bocc@alachuacounty.us). Callers will be put in a queue and prompted when it is their turn to speak. To avoid feedback, callers must turn down their meeting sound when addressing the commission. They should also state their names and limit comments to two minutes.

Masking in the meeting is now voluntary. Alachua County strongly recommends that those not vaccinated wear a mask.
