Breaking News: Florida spikes to 9,585 positive COVID-19 cases

The Florida Department of Health has reported 9,585 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 132,545 cases as of the June 26th report.

It is the highest single day report on record in Florida.

Here’s a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases reported by the state each day for the past week:

Statewide hospitalizations­­­ are at 14,136, an increase of 149.

12.82% of new cases tested positive, out of 78,345 tests administered, which is the highest single day of testing on record.

3,390 people have died from the virus, an increase of 24 over the day before.

Alachua County is now at 1,033 total positive cases, up 88 from yesterday.

Here are the total positive cases and the daily total in the smaller towns in Alachua County:
 
Newberry is at 43 total cases – up three from yesterday.
Archer is at 13 – no change.
High Springs is at 18 – no change.
Alachua is at 45 – up two from yesterday.
Hawthorne is at 9 – no change
Micanopy is at 6 – up one from yesterday.
Waldo is at 7 – no change.

Gilchrist County has 94 total cases, up five from yesterday. Levy County has 168 total cases, up three from yesterday. Columbia County at 261 total cases, up 11 from yesterday.
