A 61-year-old Bronson man is dead and a 63-year-old Bronson woman is in critical condition after their SUV collided with a tractor truck at the corner of SW 122nd Street and SW 24th Avenue in Gainesville on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the SUV was traveling west on SW 24th Avenue and came to a stop at the intersection with SW 122nd Street.
The tractor truck, driven by a 50-year-old Gainesville man was traveling north on SW 122nd Street approaching SW 24th Avenue.
When the driver of the SUV made a left turn in front of the tractor truck as he attempted to travel south on SW 122nd Street.
The front of the tractor truck collided with the left side of the SUV.
“Both vehicles came to final rest partially on the west shoulder and southbound lane of SW 122nd Street,” the report states. “Next of kin has been notified of the fatality. The driver of the tractor truck sustained minor injuries.”
Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
