Cold front to move in this weekend

Temperatures in North Central Florida will dip into the low 30s Friday through Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service website, Friday will see a low around 34 degrees with winds around 10 mph.

On Saturday, the high will be near 53 with 9 to 15 mph winds and a low of 30 degrees.

Sunday will increase to a high of 61, but that night’s low will be around 35.

By Monday, the high will warm up to 69 will a low in the mid 40s.

The city of Gainesville will open its Cold Night Shelter (CNS) program – which is activated when anticipated temperatures drop below 45 degrees overnight – this weekend. St. Francis House (413 S. Main Street) provides CNS services for families, women and children and GRACE Marketplace (3055 NE 28th Dr.) is available for individual adults.
