Columbia County collision kills White Springs motorcyclist

A 48-year-old White Springs man died Wednesday morning when a pickup turned in front of his motorcycle on County Road 250 northwest of Lake City in Columbia County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 65-year-old Fort Meade man was driving a pickup north on CR 250 at 6:40 a.m. and made a left turn onto Nash Road in front of the motorcycle. The White Springs man driving the motorcycle struck the front of the truck.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead on scene and the driver of the pickup was transported to HCA Florida Lake City Hospital with minor injuries.

hopefully the guy in the truck will be charged was he a legal driver??? if not he should be charged with vehicular homocide
