A 57-year-old Morriston man driving a motorcycle was killed Thursday morning when an SUV attempted to pass a pickup on US Highway 41 in Levy County and hit the bike.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 57-year-old Ocala man was driving northbound on US 41 south of SE 70th Lane at 5:45 a.m. south of Morriston when he attempted to pass a 29-year-old Williston man driving a pickup northbound.
The SUV entered the southbound lane, where the Morriston man was driving his motorcycle southbound, and the SUV and motorcycle collided.
The collision killed the Morriston man and the Ocala man driving the SUV is in serious condition. The Williston man driving the pickup sustained minor injuries.
