The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) evacuated its headquarters off NW 6th Avenue and set up a perimeter after a woman brought an “inert explosive device” in on Thursday morning.

GPD said no surrounding residents or businesses were in danger and that the evacuation, now ended, was a safety precaution while the department and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad analyzed the device.

According to a GPD release, a local property owner found the device at a rental property she manages and brought it to the department for identification.

Sounds like a Set Up that the Gainesville Police Headquarters fell head first for. The bomb should have stayed where the woman found it. She should have called the Police to come to her and the bomb. Bombs and explosion devices are never supposed to be moved until disarmed and or dismantled. A person could have hid inside GPD Headquarters while police evacuated and tampered with GPD Computer Systems and So Forth. Criminal Minds

The supposedly explosive device and the Carrier should have been escorted out of the GPD Headquarters Building and a Perimeter should have been set around the Carrier and the explosive device outside. A Police Headquarters should never have to be caused to evacuate. Headquarters should always be protected inside and out. The Carrier of the explosive device should have been arrested until a Criminal And a Extensive Background Check could have been performed. Should have been fingerprinted as well. Where are the parts to the explosive device? Was this a delivery of parts for another purpose? Or was the device really a Explosive Device.
