A two-vehicle collision west of Old Town left one person in critical condition and two in serious condition on Thursday afternoon.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 20-year-old Old Town female driving an SUV south on US Highway 19 around 3:30 p.m. attempted to make a left turn onto NE 521st Street into the path of a small pickup driven by a 53-year-old Old Town female.
The two vehicles collided in the outside northbound lane and came to rest on the east shoulder. The SUV driver is in critical condition, a 22-year-old Old Town male passenger is in serious condition and a 17-year-old Old Town male passenger sustained minor injuries.
The pickup driver is reportedly in serious condition.
Emergency responders transported all four occupants to UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
FHP closed the outside northbound lane for nearly four hours.
