Driver dies in collision near Fort White

A two-vehicle collision east of Fort White resulted in a fatality Tuesday morning. 

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said in a report that a 37-year-old Bell woman driving an SUV traveling westbound on SW County Road 18 crossed over the center line and into the path of an oncoming pickup truck towing a trailer driving eastbound around 7 a.m.

Emergency responders pronounced the SUV driver dead at the scene and the 26-year-old pickup driver from O’Brien sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The collision occurred near SW County Road 131. 

FHP will continue to investigate the accident.
