Fire crews rescue driver from wreck on SE 35th Street in Gainesville

The Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) and Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) responded on Friday morning to reports of a vehicle accident with entrapment on SE 35th St. in Gainesville. 

Upon arrival at 10:44 a.m., crews found a single vehicle with heavy damage to the rear after it had struck a power pole. One person was still trapped inside the vehicle.  

After stabilizing the vehicle and using the “Jaws of Life” to remove the person, the patient was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital for evaluation.
